Objectives

• To make it simple to plant trees by making tree planting an accessible experience for everyone who want to make a positive impact on the environment
• To provide a platform for individuals and organisations to sponsor trees without the need of procuring, planting, and maintaining the trees themselves
• To make National Capital region of Delhi cleaner and greener
• To promote and support the positive role that children and young people play in sustainable development and encouraging them to come forward and engage in plantation drives
• To plant new saplings where a tree dies before the three years of its monitoring period
• To work with and coordinate with all departments connected with trees - the PWD, DDA, Yamuna expressway authority, horticulture department, Municipal Corporations, Panchayati Raj, and so on

Highlights

We ensure high survival rate of saplings by

• Planting low maintenance saplings like kejri, papri etc
• Planting healthy, germ resistant species
• Planting in deep soil after filling with manure
• Planting a mix of evergreen and deciduous trees, decorative, fruit bearing, flowering, shrubs etc
• Following best practises and planting in the right season
• Covering saplings with a tree guard (dependent on funds)
• Monitoring their growth for 3 years post-plantation

Plantation limited to seeding native species or species that have some utility, native bushes, fruit trees, flowering plants and creepers that attract bees and butterflies

Our involvement goes beyond the planting day with photos and press coverage. We follow up until the tree stands on its own

Geo tagging of trees (dependent on funds) through the phone andprovide data like common name and scientific name of the tree, its location, date of planting, sponsor name, planter nameetc.
